1. About these terms

These terms form an agreement between the person or organisation operating Maths Launch (referred to as we, us or Maths Launch) and the school or other organisation purchasing or using the service (referred to as you). The individual who creates or administers an account confirms that they are at least 18 and have authority to act for that organisation.

Maths Launch is supplied for professional use by schools and their staff, not for personal or household use. If consumer law applies despite that intended use, nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, purchasing a subscription or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Maths Launch provides school staff with personal curriculum planners, topic-selection tools and classroom starter questions, answers, printing and presentation features. Automatic starter selections depend on the topics entered in each user's planner and the centrally configured academic calendar. Outside mapped term time, users select starter topics manually.

The service is a teaching aid. Schools and teachers remain responsible for professional judgement, checking that content is suitable for their pupils, and complying with their own safeguarding, curriculum, accessibility and assessment obligations. Maths Launch does not replace teaching, examination-board or professional advice.

3. Accounts and school responsibilities

• Accounts are for authorised adult school staff and must use accurate names and work email addresses.
• Each school has one main administrator who manages invitations, access and the subscription.
• A school account may contain up to 20 active users unless a different limit is agreed in writing.
• Login details and invitation links must be kept confidential and must not be shared.
• You must tell us promptly if an account or email address may have been compromised.
• You are responsible for keeping user details current and removing access that is no longer required.

Maths Launch is not a pupil account system. Do not enter pupil names, contact details, health data, special educational needs information or other pupil personal data into planners, support messages or other parts of the service.

4. Subscription, payment and cancellation

A subscription provides school-wide access for the paid subscription period. The price, billing period and any applicable VAT are shown before payment. Payments and subscription management are handled by Stripe; we do not receive full card details.

Subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically at the price shown for the renewal unless the main administrator cancels before the renewal date through the secure billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access normally continues until the end of the current paid period.

Except where required by law or expressly agreed by us, fees are non-refundable once service access has begun. A full refund, reversed payment or lost payment dispute may end access. If you believe you are contracting as a consumer, contact us promptly so that any applicable cancellation rights can be considered. Your statutory rights are not affected.

5. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

• use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that harms pupils, staff or others;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data, systems or source code;
• upload malicious code, interfere with security controls or place an unreasonable load on the service;
• copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the question bank or service except as these terms permit;
• use automated means to extract content or build a competing dataset or service; or
• remove copyright, trade mark or other ownership notices.

You may display starter questions to your classes and print reasonable copies for use within the subscribing school. You must not publish the question bank online or distribute it outside that school.

6. Content and intellectual property

Maths Launch and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the service, software, branding, questions, answers, graphics and supporting material. While your subscription is active, we grant authorised users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use that material for the subscribing school's internal teaching activities.

You retain rights in planner choices and other information you enter. You give us permission to host, copy and process that information only as needed to operate, secure and support the service and meet our legal obligations.

We take reasonable care when preparing mathematical content, but mistakes can occur. Please report suspected errors to us and independently check material where an error could affect teaching or assessment.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security incidents, internet failures and third-party provider outages may affect access. We may make changes that improve security, accessibility, content or functionality.

If we make a material change that significantly reduces the paid service, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain any available remedy. We may update these terms for legal, security or service reasons. Material changes will apply from the date notified and will not be used to remove accrued statutory rights.

8. Suspension and ending the agreement

We may temporarily restrict or suspend access where payment is overdue, a subscription has expired, use creates a security or legal risk, or these terms are materially breached. Where reasonable, we will explain the issue and allow an opportunity to put it right.

A main administrator may cancel renewal through the billing portal. Deleting a teacher ends that teacher's school membership immediately and does not itself delete all identity, billing, security or audit records. After a school's paid access ends, service data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Responsibility and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that sentence, neither party is responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made. Maths Launch is not responsible for loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control, misuse of the service, failure to follow reasonable instructions, or a school's curriculum or teaching decisions.

Subject to liabilities that cannot be limited, our total liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees paid by you for that period. This limitation does not reduce any remedy that the law says must remain available.

10. General terms

You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. We may transfer it as part of a reorganisation or transfer of the service, provided that this does not reduce your rights. If any term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver.

These terms, the information shown at checkout and any written order agreed with us form the agreement for the service. If they conflict, a specifically agreed written order takes priority, followed by the checkout information and then these terms.

English law governs this agreement. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives a party the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
